In the fall of 2011, a small group of friends began meeting together in coffee shops and homes, to worship, fellowship, and study the Bible. Over time, and after much prayer, the group felt called to plant a church in the Okoboji area.

Downtown Church began meeting publicly in December of 2012, and became an official member church of the Evangelical Free Church of America in the spring of 2013. Our mission is to worship Christ, while serving each other, the community, and the world!

Our Staff

Greg Jorgensen - Lead Pastor

Greg and his wife, Amanda, live in the lakes area with their four children.

Greg also works as a hospice chaplain.

He and his wife enjoy going out for coffee or dinner with friends, campfires, and road- trips.

Greg recieved his Bachelors from Augustana College, and his Masters of Seminary from Sioux Falls Seminary, SD.

Karina Van Wyhe - Worship Director and Administrative Assistant

Karina and her husband, Aaron, live in the lakes area with their three children.

Karina also works as a stay-at-home mom and piano teacher.

She enjoys cooking, coffee, yoga, and laughing with her family and friends.

Karina recieved her Bachelors from Wartburg College, in Waverly IA.
